WHAT IS ECU TUNING?
ECU Tuning is one of the names used, some may say Chip Tuning but it all means the same thing. ECU tuning is the process of optimizing vehicle engine management software by changing the parameters. This results in improved performance, lower fuel consumption and the addition or removal of certain functions. It's pretty much modifying the factory software and reloading it back to the Engine Computer.

WHAT IS INVOLVED IN THE PROCESS OF ECU REMAP?

Step 1- Read out the vehicle ECU
This is done by specialised tools by reading the software over an OBD2 diagnostic port or, directly from ECU itself. It’s done either by connecting to ECU port via specific connector, or by connecting to the ECU port pins directly or, in rare cases, by opening ECU and connecting directly to the processor and special contact points. |
Step 2- Optimisation of the software
After reading and uploading the original file to our system, our experienced in-house developers modify the settings and map the values needed to achieve the desired results for each vehicle individually. Once the software optimisation is complete, it is saved in the database together with the original file, and delivered to the customer via our system. |
Writing the software to the ECU
Modified software is developed specific for the exact vehicle model, year, engine, ECU hardware and software version including all specific options and can be written into the ECU in the same way as it was read. After the writing of the optimised software, your vehicle instantly benefits from the improved software and performance. |
